Knee Injections
There are different types of injections that can be given in the knee joint
- Steroids – Injected into the joint to decrease inflammation.
- Viscosupplementation ( hyaluronic Acid ) – Provides cushion and lubrication to knee. Usually helps in mild to moderate arthritis.
- Plalelet Rich Plasma ( PRP ) Injection : This is usually given for inflammation around tendons ( tendonitis ). PRP is blood plasma with concentrated platelet cells. These proteins promotes development of new blood vessels which in turn helps with healing process.
